Spring 2008

Jones Lake State Park

Melissa and I went to Jones Lake State Park recently. We did a nice 5 mile hike around the lake with the dogs. The lake is a Carolina Bay with cypress trees around the edge. Below is a link to more photos.

Christmas in Maine

Melissa and I spent Christmas in Maine with her family. We had a really good trip, with pretty good weather. There was snow on the ground, but the roads were clear.

Mattamuskeet

I went on a class field trip to Hyde County to observe wildlife. We saw 17 deer in about three hours on the stand we were in. One other group said they saw black bears, another group said they saw red wolves. Below is a link to more photos. Some of them are kinda graphic, showing a harvested deer being processed.
